Kilkenny has its very own collection of three Christmas cards for 2021, designed by the world-famous Cartoon Saloon Animation Studio.
The cards depict Kilkenny Castle, Rothe House and John’s Bridge over the River Nore.
Proceeds of the card sales will boost to Cois Nore, Kilkenny’s Cancer Support Centre.
To add to the local input the cards are printed by Modern Printers, Kilkenny, who are long-time supporters and patrons of Cois Nore.
The formal launch of the collection was at Butler Gallery,
Bill Cuddihy, Chairman Cois Nore, thanked Anna O’Sullivan and the Butler Gallery team for their support.
“We very much appreciate the Gallery making the space available to us for the launch of our Christmas Cards.”
Cois Nore (translates as Noreside) has once again teamed up
with Cartoon Saloon to give people a chance to send friends and family these beautiful cards.
According to Dr Bill Cuddihy, the past couple of years have been challenging for everyone and what better way to help us return to normal than by sending a Kilkenny Christmas card, and in doing so, helping Cois Nore to provide
local people with the support they need to live well with cancer.
FANTASTIC, COLOURFUL, DISTINCTIVE
The cards were individually designed by Maria Pareja of Cartoon Saloon who has once again responded in the fantastic colourful and distinctive Cartoon Saloon style.
She said Kilkenny had been a source of inspiration to the work of Cartoon Saloon, and the design of the Christmas cards for Cois Nore was Cartoon Saloon’s way of supporting the valuable work of Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre and bringing a little joy to the people who received the cards.
Dr Bill Cuddihy added: “When we first approached Catherine Roycroft with the idea last year the Board of Cartoon Saloon had no hesitation in getting involved.
“We are grateful for their support and we salute their brilliance. Once again, the artist Maria Pareja, along with Susan Brophy and the all the team at Cartoon Saloon have delivered an amazing design and we hope they will agree that we have done justice to the design by ensuring a top- quality print.”
