Dear Editor,
When I go to the polling station and do not make any entries on my voting cards before I slot them into the collection box, even though I will not have sullied the cards in any way, my contributions will be regarded as spoiled votes.
Nobody, apart from myself, will know I have no confidence in the voting system, that I have no respect for a system where as an Irish citizen, I have no vote to elect members in the national upper House of Representatives who may ruin my life, that elected EU Parliamentarians have little say in policy-making and that I am not living in a legitimate democracy.
Joe Terry,
Blarney.
