IT IS not too often that South Kilkenny hurling aficionado Jim Rohan is caught unawares.
But when the GAA club he loves sent him an invitation to a local game and post-match presentation, he fell hook, line and sinker for the bait.
There was a party atmosphere after the match and the centre of attraction was Carrickshock GAA’s No. 1 supporter Jim who was hitting his half century.
Players, supporters and club management have huge respect for Jim who eats, drinks and sleeps the ‘Shock and Kilkenny GAA.
The gathering was a salute to a loyal son who takes such pride in the local club he holds so close to his warm heart.
He will read this piece and say that’s the soccer lad in Kilkenny talking though his hat.
Regardless of what sport people are involved in the common denominator is that everyone loves and respects JR, Jim Rohan that is.
Enjoy your birthday my good friend.
From the city JR, Jimmy Rhatigan
